The opening weekend of the Premier League is one of the highlights of the season – and fans could be treated to a blockbuster first round of top-flight action this August.

The new campaign may still be two months away, but 2019-20 fixtures are already set to be released on Thursday morning.

A whopping 380 Premier League games will be revealed, with fans up and down the country waiting with anticipation and excitement to see who their club will play.

Ahead of the big reveal, the latest Supercomputer from SportNation.Bet has predicted for the first ever time what the opening day’s matches could be.

Based on a unique statistical model, the series of complex calculations looks at variables that include previous opening-day fixtures, policing requirements, stats and television broadcasting.

And one of the more intriguing matches predicted is Chelsea ‘s home tie with Aston Villa, which would see Villa assistant boss John Terry return to the stadium where he earned legend status.

Manchester City have been tipped to begin their quest to retain the title with a home encounter with West Ham while Arsenal and Manchester United travel to Watford and Newcastle respectively.

The statisticians have also analysed TV trends to make a prediction for which games will be televised on the opening weekend.

And, given their among the biggest clubs in Europe, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are tipped to take centre stage alongside newly-promoted side Sheffield United.
