Salah Fitness

The Egyptian FA have offered an update on Mohamed Salah’s battle for World Cup fitness on their Facebook page.

President of their football association, Hani Abu Reda, met with manager Hector Cuper and national team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela to visit Salah in Valencia yesterday, where the player is currently undergoing treatment.

The social media post reads: “The delegation of the national team was briefed on the recovery programme for the player, who is walking well and aims to join the squad in the World Cup, as well as the determination of the great player to catch up with his team-mates. For his part, Mohamed Abou El-Ela said that the period of absence of Salah due to injury will not exceed three weeks.”

Should Mo miss the entire three weeks, he would miss games against Uruguay (15th June) and Russia (19th June).

He would be available for the final group game against Saudi Arabia on the 25th, however, but Cuper will be keen to see his star man in the starting line-up for the two opening games of the tournament.

You can do it, Mo.

We’re all behind you!
