Barcelona have attempted to haul themselves back in the race to land Matthijis de Ligt.
It has been reported by Catalunya Radio that the Nou Camp side have slapped in a €75million bid that has been accepted by Ajax.
However, the Netherlands superstar may still not end up in Barcelona.
And Manchester United supporters shouldn’t get too excited either.
The Old Trafford giants offered de Ligt an incredible £350,000 a week contract – a deal that would have made him the highest-paid teenager in world football.
But United are now lagging behind in the chase – with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly the frontrunners.
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed de Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, has held talks with the Ligue 1 champions’ technical director Antero Henrique.
These discussions started on Tuesday night and will continue into Wednesday.
We revealed earlier this week Kylian Mbappe is being lined up to join Real Madrid.
But the PSG forward refused to confirm what is now an open secret. Neither, though, did he rubbish the rumour.
After France’s 4-0 win over Andorra on Tuesday night, Mbappe said: “Now is not the time to talk about Real Madrid.
“You always ask me the same thing, but it’s not the time.”
Catch you in the Spanish capital, Mbappe.
