Daniele Rugani blow

Daniele Rugani’s agent has moved quickly to quash speculation linking him a move to the Premier League.

The Juventus defender, 23, has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months.

But his agent, Davide Torchia, insists he’s staying in Turin after a positive season with the Serie A champions.

“It’s been a very positive season for Daniele,” Torchia told TuttoJuve. “He’s played more than 1000 minutes in the league and made 26 appearances, including 25 as a starter.

“It’s a nice improvement compared to the previous season and there is space to be able to do better next year.

“At Juventus it’s not enough just to be a good defender, you always have to do more. Juventus have always considered him unsellable and have never considered selling him.”

Gonzalo Higuain flirts

Gonzalo Higuain has flirted with a move to the Premier League.

Chelsea are said to be interested in landing Higuain if Juventus indicate he is available this summer.

It is claimed Chelsea themselves may be willing to offer Alvaro Morata to use as part of a sweetener to bringing Higuain to England.

Asked about whether or not he could leave Juve, Higuain said: “I have a contract with Juventus and no-one has told me any different.

“The Premier League? Of course I like it, it’s the most beautiful league in the world and I’d like to play in it.”

Papastathopoulos snub

Sokratis Papastathopoulos turned down Manchester United for Arsenal, according to his father.

“There was interest from United but he had to wait until July for them,” said Papastathopoulos Sr. “United have a very good relationship with Dortmund, the teams talked but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal.

“Arsenal had talked two years ago but I don’t know why he didn’t sign. He is going to a higher level, the world’s most competitive league and I believe he will do very well.

“Sokratis is in his last year at Dortmund. This was a major reason [for completing the move].”

Besiktas eye Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini has received a contract offer from Turkish club Besiktas.

RMC Sport claim the offer has been made, with Fellaini out of contract at Manchester United this summer.

Arsenal are in talks to sign the midfielder and bookmakers on Tuesday closed their markets on him moving to the Emirates.

However, Besiktas will try and prise him away from the Premier League, while Chinese clubs are also supposedly interested.

Fellaini development

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, with UK bookmakers suspending their markets on the deal.

The Gunners are said to have spoken to the midfielder about a move to the Emirates.

And bookmakers Betway have closed their market on the transfer taking place.

It is understood United have not been willing to match Fellaini’s wage demands and are resigned to seeing him leave for free this summer.

Arsenal themselves are also keen on signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos – who supposedly snubbed United.

A deal for Fellaini could spell the end of Mohamed Elneny’s career in north London.

Lichtsteiner explanation

Arsenal new boy Stephan Lichtsteiner has lifted the lid on why he joined the Gunners after leaving Juventus.

“There is a project,” said the Switzerland international, who signed for Arsenal on Tuesday.

“There is a project to come back into the Champions League.

“I think it’s hard to see a club like Arsenal not playing in the Champions League.

“If you see the players, if you see the club, the stadium… it’s the project, the big opportunity to get back to the highest level.”

De Ligt speaks out

Arsenal transfer target Matthijs De Ligt insists he is yet to speak to any clubs about leaving Ajax.

“I’m not in touch with anyone yet,” De Ligt explained to Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web after Holland’s 1-1 draw with Italy. “I’m here with my national team, focused on this.

“Of course, it’s a real honour to be associated with some big clubs but it does not change for me, I just have to continue to play well.

“I hope I can grow as much as possible and that’s why it’s important to play every week at high levels.

“Who would I choose between Juve, Barcelona and United? It’s difficult, they’re all great teams.

“We must think about it, understand what is the best step to do. At the moment I do not know, I’m on vacation and I can think about it.”

Toure revelation

Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Yaya Toure on a £1-a-week deal following his release by Manchester City.

Toure is a free agent and this week burned bridges with former boss Pep Guardiola by accusing him of discriminating against African players.

The Ivorian’s agent, Dmitry Selyuk, has name-dropped Arsenal among the clubs his client could join in a bid to get revenge on Guardiola.

“At a time when huge sums are being spent in England for the purchase of football players, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club of the top six with a salary of £1 a week,” said Selyuk. “But for certain successes to make a bonus system.

“I believe that a player like Yaya would not reject Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. Yaya is a winner.

“And never before has a top footballer with leadership qualities rejected any club, especially when they don’t have to pay for it.”

Seri update

Arsenal transfer target Jean-Michael Seri could reportedly be on his way to Chelsea.

The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the Nice star as they look to add a top class central midfielder to their ranks.

But it seems they might be pipped to a deal by Chelsea, with German TV network RTL claiming talks with Chelsea are at an “advanced stage”.

Chelsea are apparently prepared to push through a deal regardless of the fact Antonio Conte’s future remains uncertain.

RTL indicate Borussia Dortmund are also in the mix to prise Seri away from Nice this summer.

Wilshere exit claim

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could call it quits at the Emirates and join West Ham, according to former Gunners ace Paul Mariner.

“Well it seems to me that he’s been waiting for some negotiations to speak to the new manager about his contract,” Mariner said. “It seemingly has not been forthcoming.

“Would this be a good move? I’ve said on ESPN FC for a long, long time that he needs a change of scenery.

“He needs to get a new challenge, it’s too comfortable at Arsenal.

“I think if he goes to West Ham, they will ask some serious questions, new manager in there.

“I’d like to see Jack going, I’d like to see him go to a new club.”

Cillessen on Gunners move

Arsenal transfer target Jasper Cillessen has revealed he is likely to stay at Barcelona this summer.

“I think that I played well in the matches I had in the Copa del Rey,” Cillessen said.

“I need to wait patiently. The only thing I know is that Barcelona won’t sell me.

“Arsenal and Liverpool aren’t bad clubs but if Barcelona say, ‘We love you,’ then I’ll accept their decision and continue there.

“I’ll wait until we return on July 16 to see what they’ve decided. I don’t know anything.

“If the club wants to keep me, I’ll accept that. I signed a five-year deal with them.”
