The Gunners got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Fulham yesterday.
But fans are not impressed with some of Unai Emery’s team selection choices.
And there are expectations the north London side will sign some defenders, with Chelsea player Gary Cahill linked.
One surprising name to fans was Navas, who has been at Real Madrid since 2014.
And host of popular fan show AFTV, Robbie Lyle, expressed his confusion at the speculation.
He said: “He’s 32 now, a Costa Rican international.
“Now he’s reportedly told people he’s going to be leaving Real Madrid, who have Thibaut Courtois in.
“He’s not playing and available at around £14m and there are lots of rumours Arsenal want Navas.
“But this one doesn’t make sense to me.”
The AFTV host went on to say that Emery’s goalkeeping options were already good enough.
“We’ve got Bernd Leno and we paid just under £20m for him, we’ve still got Cech there,” Robbie added.
“There was talk he could be a long-term replacement who’s probably better at playing the ball out.
“This one doesn’t make sense to me”
“Navas is openly saying he wants to play week in week out, but Leno’s there.
“So it just doesn’t make sense to me.”
And the Gunners faithful were in agreement with the host.
“Why the f*** are we going for Navas,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Navas could be like [Claudio] Bravo of Man City and be a big flop.”
While a third simply said: “We don’t need Navas.”
This comes as Micky Quinn said the Gunners would be “foolish” to let Aaron Ramsey go.
